Lane Kiffin's daughter, Landry, attends LSU Booster Club meeting amid coaching speculation
Landry Kiffin, the daughter of Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin, was spotted at LSU's Booster Club meeting on Thursday. According to On3's Pete Nakos, her boyfriend, LSU linebacker Whit Weeks, spoke at the event. Landry has been in Baton Rouge throughout the week, following reports and videos that revealed her family's presence in the city on Monday.
LSU boasts several booster clubs with tier-based membership systems, supporting programs like gymnastics, swimming & diving, and women's basketball. Landry's attendance at the event coincides with her father being a top candidate for the open LSU coaching position. However, Lane Kiffin currently holds the same role at Ole Miss, leading the Rebels to a 10-1 record and a potential College Football Playoff berth.
Kiffin's name has also been linked to the Florida coaching job, with his family reportedly touring Gainesville on Sunday before heading to Baton Rouge the next day. Landry has been publicly dating LSU LB Whit Weeks since the week of the Ole Miss-LSU game on September 27, which Ole Miss won 24-19.
LSU suffered its first loss of the season after a 4-1 start, firing head coach Brian Kelly on October 26 following a 49-25 loss to Texas A&M at home. The Tigers' record dropped to 5-3. Meanwhile, Kiffin's Rebels started the season 6-0 but lost to Georgia in mid-October. Ole Miss has since won four consecutive games and has one regular-season game left, the Egg Bowl against Mississippi State.
The SEC Championship game qualification for Ole Miss remains uncertain, with the decision pending until the season's final week. Despite a 11-1 overall record, many believe the Rebels have a strong chance of making the College Football Playoff if they can beat their rivals on the road. Before that, Kiffin and his team will enjoy a bye week, returning for a crucial match against the Bulldogs on November 28 at noon ET.
