Breaking News: Montana De La Rosa Jumps Ship to PFL!
That's right, fight fans! Montana De La Rosa, a seasoned veteran of the Octagon, is making a move. After a successful run in the UFC, she's inked a multi-fight deal with the Professional Fighters League (PFL). This is a big shakeup in the women's flyweight division, and here's what you need to know.
De La Rosa, boasting a record of 13-9-1, has a wealth of experience, including 12 fights in the UFC. She even made it to the semi-finals of The Ultimate Fighter 26. Her manager, Oren Hodak of KO Reps, confirmed the signing to MMA Junkie on Tuesday.
But here's where it gets interesting... Despite a win in her final UFC bout, De La Rosa wasn't offered a new contract. The reason? Her March booking was canceled when her opponent, Luana Carolina, missed weight by a significant margin. Controversially, Carolina remains on the UFC roster.
During her time with the UFC, De La Rosa racked up a respectable 6-5-1 record. She secured victories against notable opponents like Andrea Lee, Ariane da Silva, and Rachael Ostovich.
Now, the PFL is her new home, and she's stepping into a fiercely competitive women's flyweight division. She'll be facing off against top contenders such as Dakotcha Ditcheva, Liz Carmouche, Juliana Velasquez, Taila Santos, Viviane Araujo, and Ariane da Silva.
What do you think of this move? Will De La Rosa make a splash in the PFL? Do you agree with the UFC's decision not to re-sign her? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
